Gooseneck Ball Connection Point Measurement for Convert-A-Ball Adapter, # CAB-C5GX1216

Question:

My 2 5/16 ball is recessed the height of the ball into a box that has 6 clearance right and left and 7 1/2 clearance front and back in the box. The box sets down below the height of the flat bed. Will this part # CAB-C5GX1416 be able to turn on the ball in the box?

I went out to the warehouse to measure the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter, # CAB-C5GX1216, and another adapter I think would be a better fit. The Convert-A-Ball portion that connects to the gooseneck ball measured 7-1/4 inches from side to side and 5-1/2 inches front to back.

I also measured the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter, # AM3139. At its widest point where it connects to the ball, the outside measurement is 5-1/2 inches. This would give you a 1/2 inch of clearance left and right and 2 inches front to back. The Ranch Hitch also has a longer offset at 8 inches, and a higher pin weight capacity at 6,000 pounds. It is height adjustable from 11-3/4 inches to 14-3/4 inches.
