Availability of Quick-Connect Brake Controller Wiring Adapter for 2003 Ford Excursion
Question:
I have a 2003 ford excursion 4x4 eddie bauer. Is there a brake controller that plugs into the obd plug?

Expert Reply:
The OBD-II diagnostic port on a vehicle cannot provide a trailer brake controller connection but certain vehicles with factory-installed 7-way trailer wiring will also include another under-dash port to allow simple plug-in installation of a trailer brake controller like the popular and reliable Prodigy P3 # 90195.
If your 2003 Ford Excursion has a factory 7-way trailer connector then it will also have this port. The connector you're looking for will mate with the larger plug on part # 3035-P. Please refer to the linked photo. This plug-n-play wiring adapter allows you to install any Tekonsha brand controller without need for cutting and splicing wires.
You can refer to the linked video showing a 2003 Ford installation.
