Recommended Brake Controller and Wiring For 2013 Honda Pilot AWD
Question:
Hi, Im looking to setup our 2013 Honda Pilot AWD with a brake controller and towing harness. I see you have several different types of both and they seem to overlap, is there a best option for me when I want to do both? Thanks!

If you have the factory tow package on your 2013 Honda Pilot AWD, then you will just need a brake controller and wiring adapter harness. For this I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 and the harness # 3070-P. This is a proportional brake controller with a LCD screen and easy to use presets. It is a favorite with our customers for function and ease of use. The wiring harness simply plugs into your factory wiring harness. The harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
If you have the factory 7-way and want the 4-way access as well as the 7-way, you can use the Hopkins Replacement Custom Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors # 30955. This is an easy swap out.
If you don't have the factory tow package, then you will need to hardwire the brake controller. For this, I recommend the brake controller kit # ETBC7. This will give you the connector, the wiring, the circuit breakers and everything you need to turn a 4-way into a 7-way with brakes, 12V power, and reverse. I've attached videos to assist. You will need a 4-way to begin this wiring, so if you don't have that, I recommend you start with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118558. You will simply plug this 4-way into your # ETBC7 connector.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
