Bypassing the Factory 7-Way on a 2006 Lexus LX 470 with an Aftermarket 7-Way
Question:
I have a 2006 Lexus Lx470 with factory towing harness 7-pin connector I have no power to the connector. From What I have researched the control modules tend to go bad on these. What product do you have as a replacement? So that I could retain the 7pin plug. Thank you

If you are wanting to bypass the wiring on your 2006 Lexus LX 470 then I recommend installing the Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit # C59496 for a 4-Way flat and then installing the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 for a fully functioning 7-Way.
The Tekonsha kit will hardwire into your tail lights and you will use the included circuit tester to connect each wire to the proper function. You will then need to run the Black lead wire up to battery so that the trailer lights will draw power directly from the battery on your LX 470.
The Universal kit will then plug into the 4-Way flat and have leads run to your battery for 12V power and up to your cab for a brake controller. If you don't already have a brake controller then I recommend going with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because of the ease of installation and use. I have attached an installation video of the P3 and the ETBC7 being installed on a 2013 Lexus RX 350 for you to reference.
I have attached some helpful articles for the installation.
