Recommended Supplemental Braking System to Flat Tow Behind Sunseeker 2300F
Question:
I have a Sunseeker 2300F. I am curious about my need to have added trailer brakes? The towing capacity on my Ford E450 C class is 7500lbs. Arent the brakes good enough on that size truck to handle flat towing a 3000 lb car in any US state? thanks for help. Oh yah. I live about 20 min from your warehouse in wentsville on hwy A. if I buy stuff from you can I pick it up there?

There are laws regarding supplemental braking systems in towed vehicles. It is wise to use a supplemental braking system in any towed vehicle as the momentum with that kind of weight can cause the tow bar to help slingshot a vehicle up and into the back of your Class C motorhome with a good bump in the road. I was just talking with my contact at Roadmaster about this last week when he witnessed it happening.
I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251 because it allows you to set the system at install and then it basically becomes plug and play with most vehicles. I've attached a video to assist.
If you let me know your vehicle you will be towing, I can make recommendations for a complete system for you. You absolutely can pick up products you purchase from our location. We have a will call area in our store.
