Question:

i have an 03 silverado 2500 duramax with a curt double lock gooseneck hitch. The truck has rails below the bed, can i install a 5th wheel hitch without removing any of the gooseneck mechanism. Its a 30000lb hitch and I dont want to change my 5th wheel to a gooseneck.

I'd recommend you use an adapter like the Curt X-5, part # C16210. The X-5 adapter will lock into the existing Curt gooseneck hitch, and would provide industry-standard bed rails that would allow you to easily install a fifth wheel hitch.

The Reese # RP30083 fifth wheel hitch you mention would work very well for you, as long as your fully loaded trailer weight is within the 20,000 lb capacity of the hitch.
