Helpful Expert Reply:

The proper tire pressure at all times is the max pressure listed on the side of any trailer tires. Trailer tires are rated for weight capacity and designed to function based on that maximum tire pressure. The tires should be inflated cold, meaning that they should be at max listed psi (in your case 65 psi) prior to traveling. The road friction heats up the tires and gives an incorrect reading of max pressure when inflated part way through a trip. If you need to check tire pressure while on a trip, I recommend planning a stop for a meal and then inflating your tires before you leave so they have time to cool down a bit.
