3 Bike Platform Bike Rack Recommendation that is Easy To Use and Can Fold Up
Question:
Hi, I need your advice on what to pick. I have a 2014 Subaru Forester with a U-haul installed 2inch hitch reciever. I need to transport 2 bikes usually and sometimes 3 bikes. The bikes are an adult mens mtn bike, a boys mtn bike and a womens comfort bike the 3rd bike on occasion. I believe a platform style is best for ease of loading, in case my wife wants to load when I am not available. I saw a Swagman 2-bike on a friends car and it looked pretty solid. It can be folded vertical when not needed which is a plus. However based on the need to go with 3 bikes on occasion, I am also interested in the PS63138 - Pro Series - as it looks like it can do 2 or 4 bikes when needed. What would you advise ? Ideally I would like to leave the carrier mounted on the car most times, for convenience as go out biking every weekend. Thank you!

For what you are looking for I believe your best option would be the Kuat Transfer 3 part # KU24FR. This is a 3 bike rack that is easy to load, is priced really well for how nice of a rack it is, and for a platform bike that carries more than 2 bikes is pretty light at 51 lbs. Most platform racks are really heavy which is their biggest drawback.
Since it is a platform bike rack it will be very easy to load. I attached a couple pictures that show that it can fold down for cargo area access and up for clearance.
