Parts Needed to Rebuild Suspension of 4 x 9-Foot Utility Trailer

Question:

Ok here is what I think I need and it seems to be matched. Please confirm the parts are appropriate with each other. The trailer is 4 x 9 utility trailer, light weight, old, and in need of an axle as the last over load of mulch bent the left axle between spring perch and hub. : Axle Item #20440I-EZ-60 Spring Item # e84SR need 2 of course U-bolt kit Item # APUBR-10 Wheels Item # AM30040 need 2 I dont think I need Item # APS1 hanger kit. Trailer has mounting for slipper bolt, all I would need to come up with are new bolts and the straps. Do you have them separately? Cost? Current springs are slipper type, but the double eye should work. The axle and springs are heavier than original, but should be fine I think.

The 2200-lb-rated axle/hub kit # 20440I-EZ-60 should be fine for a 4 x 9 utility trailer. This kit includes 4-on-4 hubs that work with trailer wheels from 8- to 12-inches diameter, like # AM30040, but note these wheels/tires are rated for 745-lbs each so two of them can handle 1490-lbs, not 2200-lbs as the axle can. Keep this in mind as you load the trailer up; the weakest link determines overall capacity. Your trailer frame may be rated for more or less weight than these other parts.

The axle has spring seats spaced at 48-inches. You will need two leaf springs # e84SR and one U-bolt kit # APUBR-10; an install video is linked. If the trailer does not have a rear hanger you will need to weld one on each side (please see the linked article on double-eye suspensions). You can use kit # APS1 but you might not need the front hangers.

For reference the items needed to complete a single-axle suspension are as follows:

2 Double-eye springs
2 Front hangers
2 Rear hangers
4 Shackle straps
6 Shackle bolts
2 U-bolt sets (4 U-bolts total)
2 U-bolt plates
