Safe Way to Wire in Second Battery for Travel Trailer
Question:
Is there a best practices when it relates to batteries for travel trailers? Based upon my understanding, it seems that doubling the capacity would be better since Im not changing any of the output requirements in the trailer, but any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can double the life of your battery basically by running them in parallel and you'll still get the 12 volt output you'd need.
If your trailer is designed to be used with 12 volts you cannot double the voltage by running them in series to give you 24 volts.
You'd want to run them in parallel. I attached a picture that details how both are accomplished. You want to use the diagram on the right.
