Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System Compatibility with Aluminum I-Beam Trailer Frame

Sorry, that is not a pic of my trailer. I run 5 on 4 1/2 inch. Each axle is 3500 pounds.

The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle - Off-Road Tires - 3,500 lbs # ASR35HDS02 is compatible with I-beam frames and in tandem axle configuration. Due to the Aluminum frame, I recommend putting a thin rubber pad between the steel mount and the aluminum I-beam. The powder coat on the steel should keep the two dissimilar metals from galvanic corrosion, but a thin rubber pad would drastically increase this safety. Zinc plated hardware will work well with both and will give you a great system.

This axle-less system will work very well for your application and will give you increased ground clearance with the 4 inch lift as well as not having the tube running under the center of the trailer.

Thank you. Can you put together a parts list I would need including hubs, bearings, etc? One set would need brake flanges. I run one of your disc brake products in one axle only.

I'd be happy to help you with the hub assemblies. From your photo, you have an 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. For your hubs, I recommend the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 7,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 8 on 6-1/2 # AKIHUB-865-7-2-EZ-K. The bearings in this kit will fit perfectly but you will need the seal # GS-2125DL instead of the # GS-2250DL it comes with because the outer diameter is a match but the inner diameter is not for the seal included in the kit. You will need to get these hubs for both axles. Then for disc brakes, you can use the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 13" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - Dacromet - 1/2" Bolts - 7,000 lbs # K2R712DAC for one of the two axles as you mentioned. This bracket will fit the integrated brake flange of your axle-less suspension assemblies. If you don't already have brake lines run, you can use the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Single Axle - 18' # 18SI-BLKIT. This can be used with a brake actuating coupler like # T4750620 or an electric over hydraulic actuator like the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # HBA16. This will give you the hubs, bearings, seals, brakes, and brake lines. Let me know if you need anything else.

No problem, but that does change things a little bit. To get hubs that fit the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern to fit the axle-less system, you will need to change the system from the off-road tire spindle # ASR35HDS02 to the regular tire # ASR3500S06. These spindles will have a 3500 lb capacity, still give you that 4 inch lift, but will fit the hubs you need. For your hubs, I recommend the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 # 84545UC1-EZ. You will the hub for one axle. For your second axle, you will want the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # K2HR35D which comes without the bearings, the seal, or cap. For the seal you will want the Grease Seal - Double Lip - ID 1.719" / OD 2.565" - for 3,500-lb Axles - Qty 2 # RG06-050 and grease caps # RG04-040. For the bearings, you will want # L68149 and # L44649 for each hub with rotor. The brake lines and actuators will be the same for this setup, but let me know if you need help.
