Pros and Cons of 5th Wheel Hitch With 20k Rating for 2017 Ford F-350 with Factory Rail Kit
Question:
I have a 2017 Ford F-350, SRW with 8 ft bed. In reading the QandAs, eTrailer seems to always recommend the BandW Companion hitch over the other similar hitches. Can you tell me the reasons why you feel the BandW is better than the others? Also, what are the pros and cons of the BandW Companion vs the Curt A20? Thank You

When comparing the B&W Companion To the Curt A 20, there are some basic differences that make both models attractive.
The B&W Companion # BWRVK3300 has a very sturdy base that can be easily disconnected from the hitch head and the pivot arms are easily adjustable and have not only height adjustment but can move either closer to cab or farther from cab. It weighs about 150 lbs in total. The negative is the lack of cool features like a coupler indicator and the standard B&W gray color.
The Curt A20 # C16034 weighs about 155 lbs. It is easily adjusted with bolts for height and can also be installed in two parts with the head coming off the base. I prefer the black color as well. This hitch has the color coded indicator system to help you with coupling and uncoupling. The negative is the lack of ability to move pin closer to cab or further away.
My personal thoughts are I like the function of the B&W hitch better and think it is made stronger. I like the look and price point of the Curt hitch better.
