If you do not have any factory connector present (4-Way or 7-Way) at the rear of your 2006 Ford F-150, you will just need a couple of items to install the excellent Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 that you referenced.
First, to install a 4-Way connector, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56031. This is custom fit for your truck and will install by simply plugging into existing ports under the vehicle on the driver side. I have attached the installation instructions for you to check out.
Once a 4-Way is installed (or if the truck already has the factory 4-Way), you will need to add the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit will include everything that is needed to install a fully functional 7-Way connector along with your brake controller. I have attached an article that details the installation steps for this kit that you might find helpful.
Lastly, even if your truck does not have the factory tow package, there should still be a port located underneath the dash that will allow the use of the Plug-In Adapter # 3035-P. This adapter will plug into the brake controller itself on one side, and to the port behind the dash on the other side. This makes for an extremely simple connection for the brake controller unit to your truck.
