Can 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 4x4 with Active Drive II Be Dolly Towed?
Question:
Can you dolly tow this vehicle
asked by: Jeanne
Expert Reply:
Your 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trail 4x4 with Active Drive II, CANNOT be dolly towed. You can however tow it with all 4 wheels on the ground (flat tow) if the transfer case is shifted into neutral by the tiny button next to the Selec-Terrain knob.
For a parts list to flat tow, here are my recommendations:
Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521446-5
Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # RM-520
RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs # RM-643
Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751471
SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251
Then you just need a high-low adapter. I've attached an article to assist in determining your needs and linked the page for your convenience.
Let me know if you need clarity on any of these parts and why they are necessary.
