Recommended Camper Tie Downs for 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Question:

I have a 2016 lance pickup camper. It goes in my 2015 Silverado 1500 short/standard, 6 1/2foot bed, pickup. I currently use the kind of tiedowns that hook to something attached to the frame under my truck with chains and a turnbuckle. I wondered if the tie downs that fit into the holes of the truck bed will work with my truck. As u can probably tell, Im a woman and dont know the property terminology. I hope you can make sense of my question and offer me some input. Thanks

The Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs - Bed Mount # HSBP referenced in your question are designed as a universal application and will fit most pickup trucks. It sounds like the tie-downs that you are currently using are more of a custom-fit item for your specific model truck. If you would rather use a system like these Brophy Tie-Downs, which clamp onto the truck's bed side rails, you will just want to take note of a couple dimensions on your Silverado.

These tie-downs will work great as long as the external bed rail width on your truck is not more than 5-1/2 inches. You will also need at least 2 inches of space beneath the lip of the bed rail. I have included an image that clarifies this particular dimension. Also just note that these are not compatible with drop-in bed liners, plastic bed rails, double-walled beds or side-step beds.

If the rails on your truck meet these requirements, the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs will be a great option for securing your Lance camper. These do not have a particular weight capacity and will work with any sized camper that is appropriately sized for your truck. The zinc finish on these tie-downs will also provide superior rust and corrosion resistance. If you need the hardware to secure your camper to the tie-downs, you can use # TDHP.

I have attached an installation video on this product so you can see exactly how they work.
