Installing Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on 2014 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
I have the integrated controller on my truck. It will not operate the Dexter disc brakes on my 2018 5th wheel. What wiring do I need for this controller?

When installing the excellent Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 in your 2014 GMC Sierra 2500, you will just need to connect the brake controller wiring to the vehicle wiring already present under the dash. The needed wires have already been run to this location on your truck, so no additional wiring will be needed. There is not currently a plug-in adapter available for your Sierra.
On the brake controller: The black wire will go to the 12V/power wire on the truck, the red will go to the stop lamp switch, the white is for ground and the blue is for the brake output wire.
This is a great proportional controller that will activate your trailer's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your Sierra. It is indeed compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes and will provide a very nice upgrade to the factory controller on your truck.
I have also attached the installation details for you to check out.
