Position of the Pins that Secure a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch to the Rails
Question:
I am just new at this and last fall I took the fifth wheel hitch off of the rails and left the rails in the bed of the truck. I am ready to put the hitch back in and do not remember which way the pin goes which holds the head on. Dont know if it slides through from the front or the rear of the hitch. Please let me know if there is a difference or which is the best. Thank you.

If you look at some of the pictures and videos featuring 5th wheel trailer hitches and installations on our site, you may see that the pins are in from the back with the clips on the outside. Basically, it is easier to get the clip off and on when it is on the outside. I've attached a video showing you how to install the Reese # RP30051.
