There are three possibilities that determine the items you will need for installation of the Tekonsha Voyager Proportional Brake Controller on your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500.
If your vehicle has a factory installed 7-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle you will need the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller with Wiring, item # 39510, # 3020-P. In this case these are the only parts needed. The connection point for the brake controller is found under the dash near the emergency brake pedal.
If your vehicle has a factory 4-Way connector you will need the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller with Wiring, item # 39510 and # 3020-P, and the # 37185 adapter, along with an appropriate length of 10 gauge wire, item # 10-1-1. The Blue wire from the brake controller connector will need to be ran to the 7-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle. I have included instructions below which show where under the hood to find the wire to splice into and run the brake feed wire back.
If your vehicle does not have an OEM trailer connector then you will need the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller, item # 39510, along with a 4-Way installation kit, item # C55504, and a brake controller installation kit, item # ETBC7. The ETBC7 kit contains all of the wiring and circuit breakers you will need. I have linked detailed instructions for installation of this kit for you to review.
