Troubleshooting Brake Controller On Chevy Silverado 3500 And Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator
Question:
I have a new 17 high country 3500 chevy duramax. The stock controller wont control my 6 disc brake boat trailer with a Titan electric over hydraulic. The dealer installed a Prodigy 2 said it would take care of it and it didnt. Is there something Im missing? I probably should of talked to you first, thanks. The weird thing is at times the truck would engage the brakes just way to hard then nothing with the stock controller. Help would be great, thanks again.

The Prodigy P2 # 90885 is a great controller that should work fine with an Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator. The Factory controllers don't communicate well with the EOH systems from any manufacturer. The controller should have been installed using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3016 and the factory system should have been disabled. If it was not disabled you may have competing signals still. I've attached an article to help.
If we need to troubleshoot further, let me know what model actuator you have and we can dive deeper for a solution.
