Tonneau Cover And Ladder Rack Compatibility On A 2017 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I have a 2017 Toyota Tundra Crewmax with a 5.5foot bed. It has a bakflip G2 on it and I need to put a ladder rack on it, but I need to leave my hitch available also. What do you folks recommend?

I do have a way for you to haul elongated items on your 2017 Toyota Tundra with a tonneau cover installed, however, as the mounting location of most tonneau covers are in the same spot as the mounting location for most ladder rack systems, the two are rarely compatible with one another.

The best option in order to haul additional or elongated cargo on your vehicle with a tonneau cover installed is a roof rack such as the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar System part # RRVA150B-2, part # RRRLKVA, and part # DK079. The aero crossbars used in this kit will aid in both noise reduction and wind resistance. It also has a 160 lb. weight capacity though you will want to check with your owner's manual for the vehicle's roof capacity first.
