Troubleshooting Brake Controller Installation On 2013 Chevy Tahoe LT
Question:
Ive purchased and tested tekonsha PN: 3016-P as a plug in harness option. My 2013 Chevy Tahoe LT wont start unless my tekonsha controller PN: 90195 is unplugged. The truck ca me stock with a factory 7-way harness in the rear and it wired correctly from the factory. I gathered from your website that this plug in adapter would work for my vehicle. Did I misunderstand, or did I fudge something up? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

For your 2013 Chevy Tahoe, the wiring harness adapter # 3016-P is not a fit. There is not a brake controller port available in your Tahoe, so you must be plugging it into something else and that is why you are having an issue starting the vehicle when it is connected to your # 90195. There is not a brake controller plug present under the dash, but the needed wires are already run. You will connect the brake controller wiring with the vehicle wiring already present under the dash. You can cut the end off the adapter and splice in the wires. I've attached an article to assist as well as an installation video to help further.
