Will Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch for RVs Fit a C-Channel Frame with Openings on Outside

Question:

Hello, my travel trailer has a C-Channel frame construction, but the lips of the C the horizontal parts point outwards, away from the middle, the opposite direction shown in the installation manual for this product. Is there a way it could work, perhaps by flipping the brackets around? Or is that not advised? If I did do that, I may also have a width issue...the edge of the bottom part of the C is about 69 wide, but with the brackets facing outwards, would that be too long? Perhaps I should go with a welded on hitch instead? Thanks in advance...

Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide Item # 13703 is going to be your best option. Like you said, flipping the side brackets could work but then there is a length issue. The good news is this trailer hitch can be welded on though welding should be done by a qualified professional welder. Since this is the most versatile hitch that can also be welded on I recommend going with it. I have included a link to the instructions for you.
