Recommended Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier for a 2017 Lexus RX 450h with Raised Side Rails

Looking for Yakama cross bars and kayak carrier for a 2017 Lexus 450 RX with raised rails. Please make a recommendation.

As of yet (July 2017) Yakima does not have a roof rack fit for your 2017 Lexus RX 450h, but I did call them and my contact said that they will be finished testing and have a fit in a month or two.

Because of this I recommend going with the Malone AirFlow2 # MPG215 which is confirmed to fit your raised side rails. This roof rack option uses Aero style Crossbars which will help to reduce wind noise and drag. These will install quickly and come with built-in locks to secure the roof rack to your Lexus and deter theft.

For a kayak carrier I recommend going with the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # Y04073. The great thing about the JayLow is that the upright bar is adjustable. This will allow you to either fold it down when not in use and for storage, plus you can adjust them to a vertical position which will enable you to carry more than one kayak. This kit comes with straps to tie down the kayak, but if you do choose to carry more than one you will need to use part # Y05006 for additional straps.

The JayLow doesn't come with locks, but locks can be added using part # Y07202.
