Recommended Gooseneck Adapter When Height of Fifth Wheel Trailer King Pin is Not Known
Question:
i have a stock f450 with with a goose neck hitch, we are buying a weekend warrior 5th wheel CL4005 toy hauler this will be our first 5th wheel i dont have the trailer yet so i cant measure anyhting the trailer does not have flipped axles can you tell me which adaptor would be best and should we use the one with saftey chains? thank you

Because you do not actually know the height of the trailer, using the Ranch Hitch Universal Adapter, part # AM3100 that you referenced would be a good bet, due to its 3 inches of height adjustment.
If your F450 has the short bed, I would advise using the Ranch Hitch Universal Adapter, part # AM1319. This adapter offers the same height adjustment, but also offers an 8 inch offset to the rear, to allow proper clearance between the front of the trailer and the rear of the truck cab.
Knowing the exact measurement from the top of the king pin to the ground would be helpful, you might want to consider checking to see of the seller can provide that measurement.
