Recommendation to Tow 5th-Wheel Trailer with 2014 Ram 2500 that Has Factory Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

I have a 2014 Ram 2500. It has the factory puck system for a gooseneck, but not a fifth wheel. I guess Dodge had some variable options at that time-some gooseneck, some 5th wheel. So, my bed has a hole in the center and only 2 holes toward the rear 3 holes total. Now my question. Is there a 5th wheel hitch that only requires the center puck? Or, is there an adapter for the Dodge center puck that will accept a single point mount system, like the Companion? I know I can buy the Dodge 5th wheel rail kit yes, have to buy the whole kit to get two more holes, have it installed, and then use a 4 point hitch made for the Dodge system, but Im interested in knowing if theres an option to use a 5th wheel hitch with the one center hole I currently have. Thanks for your advice.

I do have a solution for you, however there is not currently a fifth wheel hitch available that will mount directly to the factory gooseneck receiver hole on your 2014 Ram 2500.

To pull a fifth wheel trailer with the factory gooseneck hitch on your Ram, I recommend looking at an adapter like the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3100. This heavy-duty adapter will actually convert your 5th-wheel trailer king pin to a gooseneck coupler. This will allow it to work with a standard 2-5/16 inch gooseneck hitch ball. It features a weight capacity of 24,000 pounds and a vertical adjustment of 3 inches.

I have attached a short video review on this product so you can get a better idea as to how it works.
