Recommended Louvered Tailgate For 2017 Ford F-250

Question:

I purchased a Curt fifth wheel hitch model #C16515-16020 and tail gate wont completely open when latched up to trailer in no slide postion is this common.

Not having room to open your tailgate fully when you are towing your fifth wheel hitch is not uncommon.

What a lot of people do is remove the factory tailgate and replace it with a fifth wheel tailgate that has a cutout for the king pin. For your 2017 F-250 I recommend the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series Louvered Tailgate # VG-15-4000. This custom tailgate has louvers that help reduce drag. You can also add the Louvered Tailgate Insert # VI-4000 that can be used when you are not towing your fifth wheel trailer.
