Setting Up Prodigy P3 Electric Brake Controller to Work with Electric Over Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Question:
I recently purchased the titan disc brake kits and the carlisle hydrastar hba16 for my 39 foot fifth wheel. We already have a prodigy p3 controller installed on my 2006 silverado. After searching through your site and several others with conflicting info, would like to know the approximate voltage settings for use the new system. I have followed the instructions for putting the controller in electric over hydraulic mode, but am concerned about not enough or too much voltage. The brakes stop great compared to the electric drums, but before we set out on the first trip I wanted to make sure we are doing it correctly. Thanks for your help!

Setting up the Prodigy P3 # 90195 is the same process with electric over hydraulic disc brakes as it is with electric drum brakes.
The instructions state to set the controller at 6.0 and then drive at 25 mph. Apply the manual lever and test the braking. Then adjust the controller as needed until you find the optimal setting for your truck and trailer.
