Can Adapter 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter, # 20036 Be Used on a 1996 Ford Explorer
Question:
I have a 1996 Ford Explorer that currently has a 4-Pole wiring harness. My new boat trailer has a surge brake and requires a 5-Pole harness. The fifth wire needs to be connected to the reverse light so the surge brake is deactivated when I put my vehicle in reverse. Can I use the 4-pole to 5-pole trailer wiring adapter for my 1996 Explorer by directly connecting the blue wire to the vehicles reverse light?
