Question:

I have a 2012 f350 with factory installed goose ball, I have a fifth wheel camper and want to know the best route for being able to tow my camper, I do know about the Anderson hitch, but wondering if there is something cheaper.

To tow your fifth wheel trailer with the factory gooseneck hitch on your 2012 Ford F-350, I recommend going with the Andersen Ranch Hitch Adapter # AM3100 that you referenced. This adapter will convert the trailer's king pin to a gooseneck coupler and it features a 24,000 pound towing capacity. If you happen to have a short bed truck, you can use the Ranch Hitch with Offset # AM3139 instead, which will provide an 8 inch offset to help with cab clearance.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also check out.

The similar Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Adapter # CAB-C5G that you also were looking at will not be compatible with the factory gooseneck hitch on your truck. This is because the gooseneck ball used with the factory systems have a plastic handle that folds into the top of the ball. The inside of the Convert-A-Ball Adapter, at the top where it hits the top of the ball, features nut that will damage this plastic piece over time.
