Brake Controller Solution for Integrated Ford F-250 Controller Not Working with Hydrastar HBA-16
Question:
I have a brand new triple axel boat trailer with the HydraStar HBA-16 1600psi SN:601125. As well as the HBA-CAM 381-7073 controller. When I hook it up to my 2013 F250 with built in brake control, it doesnt work. It does work on my buddies GMC 2500 perfectly, just not on my Ford?!? Does this make sense? I did change from electric brake control to EOH control on the Ford and I know my electric brakes work because I tow trailers every day. Thanks for any input...

It's unfortunate, but the factory brake controllers of trucks just don't reliably activate electric over hydraulic actuators. Even the ones allegedly designed for them sometimes just don't work like they should. We typically just recommend going to a P2 part # 90885 as this controller is incredibly reliable with EOH setups.
The Ford factory brake controller that is in the dash does not have to be removed. You will need to unplug the connector under the dash and plug in the # 3034-P adapter for the Prodigy P2 brake controller to the factory brake controller plug behind the dash.
