The OEM brake controllers that came with your 2017 Ram states it will work with an Electric-Over-Hydraulic (EOH) so you should be able to use it.
I will say that we have received many comments regarding various OEM controllers and how the manufacturers state that they are compatible with an EOH system but when customers try using it in this manner they experience hiccups. If that is the case in your situation I recommend getting a new brake controller.
One of the best brake controllers we currently have to offer is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This brake controller is very easy to install and use, and is compatible with EOH setups. Tekonsha is one of the most reliable electronic manufacturers out there and their brake controllers are no exception.
This controller will easily install in the connector under your driver's side dash that you current controller is plugged into. all you need in is the Adapter # 3024-P.
I have attached a video of this being installed on a 2017 Ram 2500 that you can use as a reference.
