Troubleshooting Back-Up Lights not working on Camper
Question:
We just bought a 2009 Aliner Sport and are having a problem with the back up lights. We have checked all the wiring but the back up lights only flash on, then cut off quickly! When hooked up directly to 12 volts they work fine. Any ideas?

If the lights work properly when hooked up to 12 volts, and you have ensured that your trailer's wiring is set up properly, it sounds like you are having a ground issue or possibly an issue with corrosion on your connectors. The first thing you'll want to do is check the connectors to make sure that they are clean and without corrosion.
If the connectors are clean, you will then need to make sure the grounds are attached to bare metal surfaces without any paint, rust or corrosion of any kind. I have attached a link to a help article on wiring for you which could also be useful.
