Replacing a Hopkins Brake-Force Controller with Tekonsha Prodigy P2 on 2010 Chevy Silverado
Question:
Truck: 2010 Chevy 1500 I currently have a Brake Force timer controller wired to the truck. The current controller has a four wire plug in the back of the contoller. Will I need to re wire to hook up the Prodigy 2 or will the current wires work?

Expert Reply:
The connector that plugs into the rear of the Brake Force controller will not not plug into the Prodigy P2, as Tekonsha uses a different connector. The P2 includes a connector that plugs into the controller that terminates in bare wires. You can simply cut the Hopkins plug off of your current harness, and wire it color for color to the harness included with the P2.
