Will Enlarging Holes on 2002 Chevy Malibu to Install a Curt Hitch # C12027 Weaken the Frame
Question:
I got a curt hitch and last night I installed it, but I had to chissel some of the frame so I can get the bolt and plate up in the frame. My question is that with me making the opening holes bigger, will that weaken the frame at all or some? Again my car is a 02 Chevy Malibu.

If you just opened the holes a little bit like the installation instructions said to do you should be alright. However, without actually seeing the modifications that you made I can not say for certain.
If you followed the instructions on enlarging the access holes the integrity of the frame on your 2001 Chevy Malibu should be intact and would not be weakened at all, or enough to make a significant difference.
