Recommended Hitch-Mounted Bike Rack for 55 Pound E-Bike

Question:

Whats the real weight capacity of this bike rack. I know it can carry 2 bikes, but can it carry one electric bike 55lbs and one city bike 38 lbs?

The Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting, Item # S63400 has a total weight capacity of 70 pounds, but a per-bike limit of 35 lbs each.

If you plan on transporting a heavy electric bike, I recommend going with a bike rack that has a higher weight capacity like the Kuat NV 2.0 # NV22G. This rack can hold up to 2 bikes at 60 pounds each and can tilt away from the vehicle for easy rear cargo access. It is compatible with 2 inch trailer hitch receivers and includes both a hitch lock and cable lock to secure the carrier and bikes.

We also have bike racks available, such as the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR, that are designed specifically for e-bikes. This 2-bike rack has a weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike and is constructed of bolstered steel to better handle the weight of heavier electric bikes.
