Can Stainless Steel Hitch Lock be Used with Powder Coated Steel Trailer Hitch
Question:
Are these hitches OK to use w/powder coated steel? Or, do the dissimilar metals usually react, creating more rust. i.e. Are the stainless pins for use with stainless hitches only or are they a good choice either way? Thanks!

A stainless steel hitch lock, such as the etrailer.com lock # e98882 for 2 inch hitch receivers, can absolutely be used on powder coated steel trailer hitches. There will be no compatibility issues between the metals when in use. I highly recommend going with a stainless steel hitch lock like this one, as it will do a great job of resisting rust and corrosion, which can be very important when dealing with locking mechanisms.
This particular lock has an inside width of 2-9/16 inches and will come with 2 keys. I have attached a video demonstration on this product as well as a link that will take you to our available selection of stainless steel hitch locks.
