The wiring harness I recommend for your 2011 Malibu LTZ is the Tekonsha # 119147KIT, as the # 118450 you'd looked at isn't compatible with the LED taillight assemblies used by your Malibu LTZ.
Installation of this harness requires hardwiring. The kit includes a circuit tester that helps you identify the wires behind the tail lights.
If you need a trailer hitch for your Malibu I recommend part # C12051. This is a Class ll hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
The drawbar I recommend is part # C45522. This drawbar has a 2-5/8 inch rise and uses a hitch ball with a 3/4 inch shank like part # 19258 for a 2 inch ball and part # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball. You will also need a compatible pin and clip # F-4.
