Are There Replacement Parts for my Frozen 12,000 lb Gooseneck Bulldog Jack
Question:
I have a 24 foot gooseneck trailer less than two years old. It has a 12000 # bulldog jack that has froze. I would think that the bushing riding the screw has wore out and jammed. Is the unit repairable? How easy is it to repair? I see a gear kit and a screw kit. Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The gooseneck trailer jacks are repairable. It is hard to say exactly what is wrong with your jack and how difficult it would be to repair, but we sell replacement parts that could fix your jack.
We sell a Replacement Screw and Nut Kit, part # BD500217, as well as the Replacement Bulldog Sidewind Gear, part # BD500212, that you referenced.
I would recommend that you take yours off and take it apart carefully and see if you can find what is causing the jack to be frozen and then replace the broken parts.
As long as you have access to basic tools and have basic mechanical skills you should be able to handle this project.
