Rear Helper Spring Recommendation for a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan
Question:
I have a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan, and we love taking summer road trips to National Parks for camping and hiking. Our van does NOT have any kind of tow package, so the added weight from our cargo carrier and 2 teenage sons in the back seats causes quite a bit of sag in the rear and a bit of perceptible lift in the front, even though Im quite confident we havent overloaded the allowable weight and weve never bottomed out. Would the Coil SumoSprings #CSS-1195R be worth purchasing and installing, for some improvement in the sag? I had a hitch installer tell me he thought they were more snake oil than anything else.... Picture of my van loaded, but without humans inside is attached.

Getting out to our great National Parks is a fantastic way to spend vacation time but you want to get there in comfort before you have to rough it in the wilderness! Suspension enhancement can definitely help.
The Coil SumoSprings # CSS-1195R don't allow the coil springs on your 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan to compress as much thus a reduction in rear end sag is obtained. In that regard they are sufficient but there is a better option. If it were me I would use the Timbren springs # TDVRRT.
These springs will not only reduce the sag but also help with that side to side body roll feeling when going around turns/corners. They are also less likely to affect the unloaded, everyday driving ride quality. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation for you.
