Troubleshooting Brake Controller When Controller Only Works With Override Applied
Question:
On a 2015 ram 1500 ecodiesel my brake controller shows the .c when connected but I dont have trailer brakes when I mash the petal. If I squeeze the slide on the box it will lock up both axels. Where would the problem be? Thanks

The brake controller will not work if you are sitting idle and pressing the brake pedal. It will only work when you are moving. The manual override will work when the vehicle and trailer are sitting still.
It sounds like the issue you have is with the red wire from the brake controller. It needs to be attached to the stop light switch located at the top of your brake pedal.
Make sure the wire is attached to the side of the switch that only shows power when the brake pedal is pressed. YOU can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the switch.
