Parts Needed to Install Thule Aeroblade Roof Rack on 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Hi, I am looking to buy a roof rack to carry a sea kayak on a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep has factory flush rails. Im confused about what needs to be ordered. Do I need any additional items beside the Load Bars - Aluminum - 53inch - Qty 2 - THARB53 ? I see that on some vehicles there is those black rubber cushions. Thanks,

Expert Reply:
For your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has factory flush rails that run from front to back the 53 inch Thule load bars part # TH711420 will be the correct size crossbar if on top of the flush rails you see a metal strip like in the picture I attached. You will then need the following components to complete the rack.
# TH460R for the feet that attach the rack to the bars and # THKIT3142 for the fit kit to attach the feet to the rails.
If your raised rails do not have the metal strip you then would want the part numbers # TH711520, # TH480R, and # THKIT1656.
