Installation Process for 4-Pole Trailer Wiring Harnesses C56268 and 118652 on 2016 Lexus NX 200t
Question:
Hi, I have bought my NX 200t F-Sport with tow package. Do I need to do anything different in order to run this wiring? If I chose to use CURT Wiring Harness Do I need to run this black wire to my battery, or do I just plug it in somewhere? Thanks

For the 2016 Lexus NX 200t F-Sport both of the aftermarket 4-pole wiring harness kits we offer, Curt # C56268 and Tekonsha # 118652, use a separate 12V power wire that will be run to the battery and connect through an included fuse holder. This separate power connection delivers the actual current to operate trailer lights, bypassing the vehicles internal wiring. This isolates the car's wiring from any potential damage from short-circuits on the trailer.
Apart from this one power wire the installation consists of plugging the included connectors in at the vehicle tail lights.
You can refer to the linked article for help with routing the power wire.
