Brake Controller and Wiring harness Installation Instructions for a 2011 GMC Acadia with Tow Package
Question:
Im installing this controller on a 2011 Acadia with an OEM tow package. Do I just connect each end of the cable and mount the controller? Is all the other wiring brake line, charge line, circuit breakers, etc already in place?

Yes, it really is just that simple. You will just plug the larger gray connector from the Tekonsha Wire Replacement, item # 3026-P, into the connector located under the dash and then plug the small black connector into the back of your brake controller.
The vehicle harness will be located underneath the dash and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal on your 2011 GMC Acadia, see photo at right.
Since your vehicle is equipped with the OEM towing package, all of the other circuits should be in place and connected.
If you find that the power to the brake controller and/or 7-Way connector are not functional, you may need to connect these wires under the hood and/or place fuses in the correct locations. I have included a link to a technical bulletin detailing the connections that will need to be made for you to review.
