How to Remove Screw Cover on Global Link Vise Lock 295-000024

Replacing this latch on horse trailer door. How to get the cap off the third bottom screw on old latch?

On the Global Link Vise Lock # 295-000024 the single bottom screw (just below the lock cylinder) is protected from corrosion by a press-in plastic cap.
I went to our warehouse to check this item myself. This cap is best removed by prying it off with a small flat blade screwdriver. The cap is only about 1/4-inch deep so it will not take much force to remove it.
