Weight Distribution System and Electric Brake Controller in 2015 Toyota 1794 Edition Tundra
Question:
I am having a 30foot Freedom trailer built for my catering business and am wanting to haul it with my 2015 1794 Tundra Crewmax. The trailer dealer stated my trailer with equipment will be roughly 7200#. The truck has a dealer installed receiver hitch that has no weight markings listed on it. What weight distribution setup and what brake box do I need?

You should confirm the exact towing capacity of your 2015 Toyota 1794 Edition Tundra. I looked at an online copy of the owner's manual and it lists that, if properly equipped, your truck may be able to tow over 10,000 pounds however it also states not to tow more than 5,000 pounds with a bumper hitch.
I also, could not find any information about whether the factory hitch is rated for a weight distribution system or not.
If you find you can use a weight distribution you'll need to find the loaded tongue weight of the trailer. Then combine that with the amount of weight you'll have stored behind the rear axle of the Tundra. This number is what you'll use to choose a system.
With a 7,200 pound trailer the tongue weight should fall somewhere between 720 to 1,080 pounds. If this is accurate I recommend the Equal-I-zer # EQ37120ET for a weigh distribution system. Equal-I-zer has been one of the highest rated systems for a long time. This system is rated from 800 to 1,200 pounds of tongue weight. If you find your total tongue weight to be over 1,200 pounds then you can go with the 1,400 pound system # EQ37140ET.
If your Tundra has a factory 7-way trailer connector on it already then you can use the wiring adapter # 3031-P to install an electric brake controller. The brake controller I recommend is the Prodigy P3 # 90195,. It's a top of the line controller with an LCD and storable settings.
If the truck doesn't have a factory trailer connector already in order to install the P3 (Or any brake controller) you'll need to install a 4-way connector using # HM11141835. Then you'll use our # ETBC7 kit to convert it to a 7-way. The # ETBC7 kit also includes everything you'll need to install the P3.
