The metric tire size 175/80-13 is the modern equivalent of your original B78-13ST tire.

You have two options to consider when choosing a tire: Radial or Bias. A Bias tire consists of several overlapping rubber plies running from a 30-45 degree angle. They are generally used for more local driving. A radial tire is designed for highway travel and also provides a much smoother and comfortable ride. A bias ply tire has a stronger sidewall, a radial tire offers more flex for better ground contact and heat dissipation.

I recommend using a radial tire for your trailer such as the Provider ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire part # TA43RR as this be the best option for long distance traveling. This has the triangle shaped holes that you referenced. These are called spoke wheels. The round holes are called mod wheels.

You could also use a bias tire such as the Loadstar ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" White Wheel part # AM3S140 to suite your needs. These wheels are also the spoke style that you want.
