Why are New Tires on Boat Trailer Showing Excessive Wear

Boat trailer. New tires with @ 800 miles. Both tires are worn excessively on both the inside and out. ? The trailer is only 2 years old and was bought to move the pontoon boat.

There are a variety of possible reasons why the new tires on your boat trailer are already showing extensive wear. If by the inside and out, you are referring to the outside edge of the treads and not the side walls, then the most common cause of this are tires that are not properly inflated. You want to make sure the tires on your trailer are always inflated to the maximum psi as listed on the tire's sidewall.

If the wear you mentioned is instead on the actual side walls of the tire, trailer components such as a bent axle or damaged suspension parts can be the cause. An overloaded axle might also lead to excessive tire wear by placing the inside of the tires in contact with the road.
