Wiring Harness Keeps Blowing Fuse Inside Vehicle
Question:
I have a curt harness trailer kit that keeps blowing the 10 amp fuse next to the battery.even when not connected to a trailer harness. What could be the causes?

It sounds like something is causing a short circuit in the wiring of the Curt harness you mentioned in your question.
I recommend checking all of the connections the harness is making to your vehicle to see if there is anything out of place that may be causing a short. Look for damaged or frayed wires, any wires that are touching bare metal or two wires that are touching each other, wires attached to the wrong location or any corrosion along the wiring. Any of these things can potentially cause a short that is leading to the blown fuses.
Lastly, check to make sure that there are not any cut or exposed sections of the power wire between the fuse and converter box that would cause the wire to overdraw and blow the fuse.
