Can the Trailer Valet XL Be Used on a Trailer With a Surge Brake Actuator

Question:

Can I use a trailer valet xl on my camper with surge brakes? If I disengage them does that coupler still move on me so the trailer valet wont stay vertical. Any help on this would be appreciated.

You shouldn't have any problems with the Trailer Valet not staying vertical. If you have a surge brake actuator, like the Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator # 099-175-00 that doesn't have a reverse lockout, then the only problem that you will have is when you try to back the trailer up the brakes will engage. If you disengage the brakes then the Trailer Valet will work as it is intended to. Just be sure to re-engage the brakes when you are done moving your trailer.

You can use either the Trailer Valet XL # TVXL2 with a 2 inch hitch ball, or the Trailer Valet XL # TVXL25 with a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball if you have a larger compatible actuator. If you would like to interchange the hitch balls you can purchase either Valet along with the 2 inch # TVBB2 or 2-5/16 inch # TVBB25 replacement hitch ball.
