Recommended Base Plates to use with Falcon 2 Tow Bar on 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Good afternoon. Im buying a new 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I currently own a Falcon 2 tow bar. so I would think the EZ5 Base Plate Kit is the one I would need, right? also would I need to put the bar across like I did on my Saturn Vue? Thanks

If you have the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520, the EZ5 Base Plate Kit # RM-521446-5 referenced in your question will be perfect for installing on your 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. These Base Plates work with the Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch like the Falcon 2. The EZ5 Base Plates do not use the quick-disconnect crossbar so this will not be needed on your Jeep.

To complete your flat towing setup, you will just need a few more things if you do not have them already.

For safety cables, I recommend the RoadMaster # RM-643 that have a 6,000 pound weight capacity.

For a lighting solution on your vehicle, I recommend magnetic lights, which can be installed without having to tap into the existing wiring on your Jeep; for that the best option is the Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120.

Then for a braking system, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This is a proportional system that will activate the Jeep's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your RV. This is the most preferred system for our installers.
